Failure
or success on the Internet all boils down to targeting
the right keywords.
A
keyword is a search word or term used on a search engine
or directory to pull up the most relevant websites. A
keyword can be one, two, three or even four words combined
into one phrase that are related to your website topic.
"Gourmet chocolate stores" is an example of
a keyword you might enter.
·
Target keywords that are what your customer would type
in to find you. Don't make the mistake of targeting terms
that you would use, ask your customers what terms they
would use to find you.
·
Research competitors - visit competitors' websites and
view their html source code. In Internet Explorer this
is done by going to the view tab at the top then clicking
on source. If they are properly marketing their website,
then you will see a keywords meta tag with their chosen
keywords listed.
·
Submit a list of 100, 200 or 500 of your chosen keywords
to www.CyberMarkintl.com. They will research how many
times each of your keywords were entered on some of the
top search engines.
